Minutes of the First General Meeting

Rotary Club of Allahabad Grand (RY 2026–27)

Date: Friday, 3rd July 2026

Time: 5:30 PM – 6:15 PM

Venue: Zone Connect by The Park, Civil Lines, Prayagraj

1. Welcome & Review of Recent Activities

• The meeting commenced at 5:30 PM and concluded at 6:15 PM, reflecting the club's commitment to punctuality.

• The club successfully completed its first District-recommended project of the Rotary year on 1st July 2026, celebrating and honouring the Doctors and Chartered Accountants of the club.

2. Projects Approved

Project 1: Blood Donation Drive

• The club aims to support the District Governor's target of collecting 101 units of blood.

• The Blood Donation Camp will be organized during the next General Meeting on Sunday, 19th July 2026.

• All eligible members are requested to donate blood.

• Members having offices, factories or business establishments are requested to host a mobile blood donation van at their premises.

Project 2: Tree Plantation Drive

• Trees will be planted only at locations where regular care and maintenance can be ensured.

• Suggested locations: Company Garden, Gayatri Puram, Traffic Park and nearby colony parks.

Project 3: Toy Distribution Drive

• Members are requested to bring clean and usable toys to the next General Meeting on 19th July 2026.

• The toys will be distributed among orphanages and underprivileged children.

Project 4: Nutrition Kit Distribution

• The club will distribute 101 Nutrition Kits to underprivileged women and new mothers.

• Distribution will be carried out at Swaroop Rani Hospital, Colvin Hospital and Dufferin Hospital.

• Members are requested to contribute fruits, dry fruits, biscuits and sanitizers for preparing the kits.

Project 5: "From KG to PG" Education Project

• The club has decided to sponsor the education of a girl child whose father, a former staff member of Swaroop Rani Nehru Hospital, has passed away.

• The club will sponsor her education for Rotary Year 2026–27 and will request future Presidents and Boards to continue supporting her until she completes her graduation.

• Estimated financial commitment: ₹20,000 per year.

Project 6: Children's Activity Club

• A new activity club will be started for the children of our members.

• Sessions will be held once or twice every month with fun and educational activities.

• The first session is planned immediately after the next General Meeting.

• Green Lawns School has been proposed as the venue.

• Rtn. Yaduraj Joshi and Rtn. Aqsa Azam will meet the Principal, Mrs. Chhavi Kochar, for permission.

• Parents and club volunteers will conduct the activities, while members will contribute towards refreshments.

Project 7: Annual Diwali Carnival

• Planning has begun for the club's Annual Diwali Carnival.

• Proposed dates:

• 25th October 2026

• 1st November 2026

• The final date will be decided during the next General Meeting.

• Proposed venue: Hotel Harsh Ananda.

3. Club Matters

Meeting Schedule

• Several members who run shops and businesses expressed difficulty in attending Friday evening meetings.

• It was proposed that all regular General Meetings be held on the 1st and 3rd Sunday mornings of every month.

• The proposal will be discussed further and finalized in the upcoming meeting.
